There is a very slight reveal around the outer edge of the panel to the edge of the drawer front. The reveal is there to prevent the overlays from catching when opening and closing doors and drawers.

I’ve wanted to buy these, for some time, to recreate a $3,000 sideboard I feel in love with. They worked perfectly… so perfectly, I ordered another to make the piece larger. I purchased the 1/4 inch and it was sturdy and easy to apply.
